Rabbit Heart

Prompt: from [livejournal.com profile] eudaimon The end of the world as narrated by a teenager. Who survives along with them? :O
Format: HBO series.
Theme Tune: Rabbit Heart (Raise it up) by Florence & The Machine

The world ends at three thirty on a Wednesday afternoon.

When Rabbit finds herself stranded and alone in a dangerous city, a group of teens take her in as they try to make their way out of the city and back home. Up against food shortages, riots, selfish idiots and flesh eating grown ups the kids have to find a way out before the city literally swallows them up.

It's time to put childish games away. It's time to grow up.

Oh, man. I love this. I could see myself watch this. Or reading it, maybe.

I lost it the first time, I clicked DO NOT SAVE instead of SAVE so I had to go back and fix. So, I think some things have changed but not much like once I added Em in that changed the pairings for me and there was going to be a tea boy that Charles ranted at but for now he can be unnamed Tea Boy.

And I had such fun writing this out and casting it and thinking of pairings and who they all are and everything. It might be something I just play around with, write or something.

Ha, thank you. I'm putting together a playlist right now because I'm feeling a wee bit inspired and want to write about Alice and Carter wandering about in absolute empty wilderness. And then writing about the kids stuck in the busy, overrun and dangerous city. And well Bill Nighy.

oh man I'm so bummed they didn't get around to that before it fizzled, heh.

She's more bummed than I am. :-p

You know in my quest to update my icons I totally need a Felicia icon! *gets on that*

No doubt James charmed her into bed. Letting her spend all her time in his library, casually brushing against her and then a kiss or two. After all he's a smooth bastard like that. He'd even be nice to her afterwards, after all he was always in it for the long con not the short one.

Me too. Makes me sad.

This sounds like fun. Kind of like a TV 'Gone' but considerably more entertaining... :-)

[identity profile] butterflysteve.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh whats Gone?

I still need to let you know who the murderer is don't I? I'm cruel.

I thought you'd probably have seen it about - Michael Grant's novel in which a town finds itself isolated and everyone over 15 has just 'gone'. I haven't read the rest of the series, but it was interesting. So I don't know whether it was the end of the world, or the real world was still out there and all, but your brief synopsis had a fleeting similarity. :-)

YES. YOU ARE. *looks hopeful*

[identity profile] butterflysteve.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never read that. Mmmmm intriguing, I was just desperately hoping it wasn't too much like The Tribe. Do you remember that, that New Zealand show they used to have on five about kids? Loved that show.

I'll do a Murder in the Library Update/special this week.

It's one of the more recent YA popular books, but I enjoyed it anyway. I was a bit unsure how grim it was going to get later on, so haven't checked out the later titles since, but kind of Lord of the Flies meets Heroes with added apocalypse or something. ;-)

Oohhh... :-D (Although I'm wondering... do I want to know? Loved the idea of it all and those characters so much... but just the thing for a winter evening!!! Go ahead, please.)
