TITLE: The Big Bang
PROMPT: Investigators of haunted houses/the supernatural etc, in the 1930s from
OPENING THEME: Why don't you do right?
CLOSING THEME: Sing, Sing, Sing (Swing With A Swing) Covered by Benny Goodman.
"What do you do when you’re staring down the barrel of a gun held by a fairy? Well, whatever you’d do- don’t do what I’m about to do which is likely to get me killed. And sure enough that’s the sound of the gun going off, let’s hope she misses. I always knew she’d be the death of me, should’ve known it from the very start.
That was back then and this, this is the now but let’s start properly shall we? And for that we start at the beginning with a dame, an office and an unfortunate bet with my best friend Sam. And who am I? I’m Jack Chandler, Private Investigator."
Jack Chandler (Sebastian Stan) is a Private Dick who investigates the weird, the wacky and the wonderful. When his best friend's kid sister (Phoebe Tonkin) asks for a favour, events begin to spiral out of Jack's control, throwing them both into a whole new world. (Except with less carpet riding and sing-a-longs.)

Jack Chandler, 26 years old. Private Investigator. Played by Sebastian Shaw.
Ever seen inside a haunted house before? No? Think again, those stories about ghosts and monsters and that thing that lurks beneath your bed? All true. Every single damn word. I should know I investigate it. Some days I wish I never took that bet with Sam but Sam's got a Gambler's luck and silver tongue and somehow even though my gut said no, my mouth said yes. So, here I was in a genuined haunted house with his dumb kid sister who won't shut up about fairies.
Now, don't get me wrong I've seen some weird stuff in my time but little prancing babies with wings and flowers? Heck no. No one believes in fairies anymore.

Anna Raymond, 20 years old. Secretary. Played by Phoebe Tonkin.
I wish I could say she walked into my office like a tall, glass of water on a hot, summers night but this was Anna Raymond. Let me tell you about Anna from the time she was eight years old she’s been bugging the heck outta me. Twelve years on not much has changed except she ain’t wearing her brother’s trousers anymore and she certainly ain’t “Pancake Annie*” anymore.
*As in flat as.

Officer Richard “Dick” Daniels. Police Officer. Played by Shia Labeouf.
Heck, I knew this kid. This kid was me six years ago; fresh pressed uniform, sense of pride in his duty, ma’s kiss still wet on his cheeks. He reeks of innocence and he got the luck of being partnered with Charlie Boy. Maybe he’ll make the same mistakes I did or worse maybe he won’t. Power corrupts kid, let’s hope he realises that in time.

Officer Charles “Charlie” Kennedy. Police Officer.. Played by Gary Oldman.
They say you can smell the stench of corruption, boy that ain’t true but if you ever met Charlie boy you might think it was. He was my partner back when I was wet behind the ears and I looked up to him. Told me it was alright to kick a suspect when he was down, that a little side action was just swell as long as you knew they weren’t guilty and that drinking on the job, well that was just expected son. Corruption don’t stink, not in this city but one whiff of Charlie Boy was enough to send me packing.

Samuel “Sam” Raymond, 25 years old. Dockyard worker. Played by Kit Harrington.
I’ve known Sam all my life and the thing about Sam is, well he’s always had the gift of the gab. Whatever trouble he gets into, which is all the time, one word and slick as anything he comes up smelling of roses.

Dorothy Miller, 19 years old. Society Belle.. Played by Hannah Murray.
Sweet Dorothy Miller. She’d be a looker if it wasn’t for Sam. See, Sam has this way with words and names and when Sam gives you a nickname, boy does it stick. And Dorothy, well she get Dotty. And that’s all anyone can see; they don’t see her sweet smile, her big eyes here, her figure. They just see her dottiness.

Virginia Howard, 24 years old. Femme Fatale. Played by Amber Heard.
I watched her light the cigarette, the perfect form of her red lips pressed together before letting out a soft oh. She ain’t playing soft and sweet, she knows that won’t work on me but what she is playing, purring like a kitten and looking at me with those eyes of hers. Damn if I wouldn’t do anything for her.
And that’s when Annie hits me, tiny fist into my sternum. Damn it for such a small gal she packs quite the punch. And Virginia Howard and her red lipstick are all but forgotten.

Guest Starring:
Lillian Grace. Played by Anna Torv
Sunetra Patel. Played by Agam Darshi.
Madam Sylvia. Played by Ruth Wilson.
Earl Johnson. Played by Idris Elba.
Lady Margaret de Silva. Played by Amanda Tapping.
Daniel Miller. Played by Bradley James.

Love the character profiles, the whole set up. It's always funny to see what someone else does with a prompt, because it's alqays quite different to any vague ideas I might have had in mind ) I love that. And your creativeness and pretty pics are as impressive as ever.
