Okay, everyone let's not bash Will. What was wrong with this episode actually had nothing to do with Will and everything to do with the writing of said character. That being said let's actually discuss WHY this episode did not work.
Let's talk about why this episode did not work? As a plot piece, as a character piece, as a promotional piece, as an episode in general. The problem with this episode was it was Clips episode pretending to be a fully fledged episode. Now, I personally hate clips episodes. They are a cheap way of bulking out your show without having to use a whole lot of budget but the thing is just because they're cheap, doesn't mean they have to be bad!
Think Stargate SG-1. Think the awesome clips episode that show had. It promoted the show, it saved money BUT it still had great big chunks of dialogues and plot. Plot galore. This episode of Sanctuary did not have that, it was a whole lot of clips with very little plot or expansion of the show's characters.
Speaking of characters, the show tonight apart from being a clips show was not written well. The only characters who were written well or shown in a positive light were Erica and Magnus both of whom were hot, brunette and British. Perhaps this writer can only write us hot, brunette Brits. Who knows? But who they can't write is Will, Abby and Henry. This entire episode was bad character decision after bad character decision starting yet again with everyone using Magnus to get a table at Alfredo's and ending with Will's naked draping girlfriend.
Dear lord woman put on some trousers, you're in an office not a dorm room.
Which leads us to that problematic ending. The problem with this end scene was entirely it's setting. If it had taken place in a more appropriate setting it would have been more acceptable, say for instance the Kitchen. Let's face it, it's all happened to us. You're sitting their in the kitchen when your housemate and their partner or whatever you want to call it stumble in half naked for some food and then you have that awkward half naked dance of awkwardness where you try to avert your eyes but there are some things that can't be unseen. That happens in kitchens, in hallways, outside your bathroom but where does it not happen. IN YOUR BOSS'S ROOM.
I get that the Sanctuary is a family, that it is a home but this just would not happen even in that situation. It was completely out of character for Will and completely wrong for the scene and ending they were setting up.
So, this episode didn't work for those reasons and not just because OMG WILL IS SO LAME. Please note I'm being sarcastic, I'm a Will fan okay? I might not like his canon decisions (because of poor, poor writers) but that doesn't mean I will stop liking him
Things I Liked:
-Helen Magnus. Proving in less than five minutes she is more badass than you and more sympathetic than you.
THE MORAL OF THIS WEEK'S SHOW IS STILL THE SAME SURPRISINGLY:
DO NOT GO ON A DATE WITH WILL ZIMMERMAN. UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE KIDNAPPED, POISONED AND GENERALLY BE PUT IN MORTAL DANGER.

And yes, it's the writer's fault, not the character-of-Will's fault. Absolutely.
