1.Home by Gabrielle Aplin
And i’ve always been a daughter
But feathers are meant for the sky

This was available free to download on iTunes this last week and oh god I am so glad I downloaded it. It's absolutely gorgeous, I love the drums in it which sound in places like a heartbeat. It's become my favourite new Cass/Steph track and has firmly earned its place on my Cass/Steph playlist.

2.Set Fire to the Rain by Adele.
But there's a side to you that I never knew, never knew.
Adele just grabs and tugs your heartstrings and makes you feel angry and sad and happy and joyous and all these things at once. I love this song so much, I'm always singing it.

3. Flowers (Eurydice's song) from Hadestown.
Lily White and Poppy red,
I trembled when he laid me out.

I wrote worlds between for [personal profile] eudaimon for Yuletide based off of this song. It is absolutely stunning.

4.Iron by Woodkid
I'm ready for the fight, and fate
I pretty much wrote Cass vs Bruce to this song. So bloody good.

5. Deranged by Coheed and Cambria
Who will be your pretty little enemy
when I'm gone your world will prove empty
I promise you will always remember me
The jokes on you poisoning
while you clean the streets of misfortune
I pick the innocents from my teeth
We're one and the same... deranged.

Batman Arkham City. Batman. Joker. THIS SONG IS AMAZING. BADASS. asdhgioafxkiad/f keeeeeysmaaaaaaaaash

Layers upon layers of crashing, chaos into a steady, lull of music. harp plucked, over synthesised but you don't care. the lyrics are meaningless because the chaos, the noise in the music is what moves you and in that storm of sound you pluck the meaning that you want. A song can be about joy or pain and it can be both in one glorious moment when the song is stripped bare and a note is held. The music is brought to its most simple of chords and notes and then the noise begins again, chorus swelling and overwhelming you. And now you can almost hear the words, lips mouthing along as the song slows, notes drop down scales until the last note is held. The note that ties the song and you together.

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line (or first and second line if it's completely impossible) from the first 15 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own!
