[483] we done split it down the middle so you can see both the visions
And just like that, we're back to work. I actually had a very busy week off, but naturally, I have forgotten all of it. Probably because of the lack of sleep! I napped real hard yesterday so wasn't able to even settle down to pretend to sleep until about two in the morning, but I was able to drag myself out of bed a couple of hours later regardless, and that's what really matters, right?
I managed to carve out about half an hour of deck lounger time in between the alternating rain and smoke, which is... something, I guess. Truly hurts me to feel like I'm wasting the longest days of the year, but I cannot yet control nature.
Went to the movies THREE times last week, which was wonderful for my spirit. After the Monday Mystery Movie, there was a Wednesday showing of 2001: A Space Odyssey as part of this 60th anniversary thing Landmark is doing for the rest of the year and it was amazing to see on the big screen. And then Ballerina was a lot of fun in our usual Saturday slot! A worthy addition to the 'bisexual lighting action movie' genre, a long-overdue payoff to the promise No Time to Die showed re: Ana de Armas, and I hope they make three more of them; the John Wick universe (jaywoo) and its assassin-based economy is too weird and wonderful not to keep going (I never watched The Continental because of the Mel Gibson of it all, was it any good?).
And then I found motherfucking carpet beetle worms. Four in my bathroom, one under where I keep spare blankets, a bunch under my laundry hamper in the closet. I think it's a mark of maturity that I'm not completely freaking out and burning everything when I really, really want to because oh my god I can't do this again. For now, I've just cleaned the bathroom extensively because that's the easiest room to secure and now I'll just... see if they recur and keep eliminating potential sources if so. There was a dead one in a bathroom drawer, so maybe they came from there originally (the vents, maybe??) and just spread via floordrobe (which I will obviously be cracking down on) and this will take care of the problem? Please, please, please, god.
Grabbed a couple of records in a sale and they sent me the wrong one, which is very annoying now, while I'm still waiting for the replacement of the one I most wanted (Beat the Champ, an album I loved long before I randomly became able to appreciate it on Much Deeper Levels), but will be very neat once it comes in and I will have basically gotten a free album out of the mixup. Things to look forward to! I switched this paragraph with the last one to end on a more positive note.
( Album #483/1001: Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below )
June Movie Count: 6 (Ballerina, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Will-o'-the-Wisp, The Life of Chuck, Tetsuo: The Iron Man)
I mostly just watched wrestling and Enterprise this week for some reason? Which was not as fulfilling as a variety of movies likely would have been, but Fyter Fest was great, and the episode where Trip gets Never Let Me Go'd did make me cry a tiny bit, which is very embarrassing. One week to freedom!
RIP Brian Wilson!
