[Fic] Fantastic Four: He is Purple
Title: He is Purple
Author:
butterflysteve
Canon: Ultimate Fantastic Four
Rating: G
Wordcount: 500+ words
Characters: Stone Man (Ben)& Danum Ket (Reed). Brief mentions of Teph (Johnny) and Ivri (Sue).
Summary: Trapped by the Psycho-Man, the FF were brainwashed and transported to Zenn-La a paradise where the FF are split up and reimagined. Written after I just finished rereading the Silver Surfer arc of Ultimate Fantastic Four.
He is Purple
Here Stone Man, I brought some more pebbles for you.
*
He hears the voice. The voice is of Danum Ket. Danum Ket is his friend. He has never had any friends before. Danum Ket is blue. He likes blue. He does not like red. Red burns, red is angry and bad. He is not red anymore. He is purple. He is an outcast. He does not belong. Danum Ket still talks to him though. He has a voice like water. Soothing. He brings him pebbles.
He likes the blue and the white pebbles the best. They are soothing. He places the pebbles down in a pattern he cannot understand. He doesn’t understand many things; he is just the Stone Man. He is purple. The children are scared of him. Even though he sits under the Silver Man. The Silver Man has patterns on it, he does not understand them but he knows they are called words. He does not like words. Words make him sad. Blue. And he is not blue anymore. He is purple.
There is music nearby but he is not allowed to go. He sits with his pebbles and his patterns. He is alone. Sometimes he is not alone. Sometimes the water man, the blue man brings him pebbles. When he comes they are two and when he brings his friend the fire man Teph they are three but they should not be two or three they should be four.
That is what the pattern is but he does not understand it-he has a head full of clouds. Danum Ket understands it. Danum Ket understands everything. He would ask Danum Ket what it is he feels but he does not know the words. He feels not happy. He does not say this; he says nothing and walks with his friend and the one like fire and the one like air. They speak but he does not understand. They are red and blue and he is purple. He is stone. He knows he should not follow but he does. Danum Ket is his friend and he will go with his friend.
There is fighting. And anger. And red. They should not be fighting the silver and the gold and the white. He does not understand. But he knows they are hurting his friend Danum Ket. He does not like that. It makes him very not happy. He makes the Silver Man hurt. Danum Ket calls him Ben but that is not his name, his name is Stone Man. And he does not like it when people hurt his friends.
He does not understand. He does not comprehend. He is purple. He is stone. But once there was one and he was that one and he was not happy. Then there were two and he was comforted. Then there were three and he felt incomplete. Now there are four, now he is happy.

“Not your brain, your mind.”
“It was in—kind of a buffer. A faulty memory store...”
